A Wonderful Weekend At The Jacqueline Morland RAD Awards

Posted by Lauren Nairne on

For the second year in a row we were delighted to attend the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Jacqueline Morland Awards in Brisbane.

It was wonderful to see so many new faces, meet new dancers and catch up with our wonderful customers who are so loyal to us in QLD.

Positioned inside this year (thankfully) we enjoyed spending time chatting to Mums who were waiting (patiently) to get in to watch their dancers group during the on stage class.

We were so impressed with the way all the dancers handled the day.  Teachers congratulating dancers from other studios, mums helping dancers who weren’t their own.  Dancers lending shoes to dancers who may have forgotten theirs.  It didn’t matter what studio you were from it was lovely to see everyone come together.

The RAD supply such an incredible foundation for dancers all over the world and the standard in Australia is incredibly high.  We are so very fortunate to have such dedicated teachers training the next generation of exceptional ballet dancers.

It was also lovely over the 2 days for class and finals to see so many beautiful AinslieWear pieces worn on stage.  We are often asked for our favourite RAD Majors exam leotard and our favourite would have to be the Allegra with mesh (now with pinch front) available in both navy and black.  With the low back and plain front it’s an exceptional leotard to show off your lines for exams.

Thankyou to the volunteers, organisers and Royal Academy Of Dance for having us last weekend.  Congratulations to all the dancers, finalists and award recipients.
